Nutritional advice for colon patients - نصائح غذائية لمرضى القولون


In case of severe attack of pain - cramps - or severe constipation or diarrhea;

Avoid eating:

 

1- Onions and garlic in all their forms

2- Legumes (beans - peas - lentils - ...) and falafel

3- From vegetables (mushrooms - cauliflower - stalks of celery - beets - green onions - cabbage)

4- From fruits: (apples - apricots - cherries - berries - figs - dates - grapefruit - pears - peaches - plums - pomegranates - raisins - melons - mangoes - nectarines)

5- From meat: sausage, and processed meats

6- From grains: wheat and its products (wheat flour - bread - pasta - couscous - bulgur - baked goods - biscuits - cake - semolina........)

7- Honey, sugars, jam and soft drinks

8- Cubes of stock

9- Tahina

10- Milk, yogurt, curd, and most milk products.

 

Allowed foods:

 

1- From vegetables: (carrots - celery - cucumber - tomatoes - eggplant - green pepper - lettuce - okra - olives - potatoes - zucchini - pumpkin - radish - potatoes)

2 - From fruits: (unripe bananas - Cantaloupe - melon - grapes - soft guava - kiwi - orange lemon - pineapple - strawberry)

3- Meat, fish, tuna, chicken and turkey are permitted, except for those mentioned in the prohibited list.

4- From grains: rice - corn flour - oats - half a cup of corn flakes - popcorn

5- Eggs

6- From dairy products: lactose-free milk (there is now on the Egyptian market Juhayna milk free of lactose) - Quraish cheese - feta cheese - mozzarella - cheddar cheese - Swiss cheese - goat cheese - two tablespoons of ricotta cheese - ghee - butter.

7- Dark chocolate - one spoon of ketchup - mayonnaise without tomatoes or onions - peanut butter - vinegar

8- Most types of artificial sugar, and a small amount of regular sugar can be two teaspoons

9 - Light tea - coffee - Nescafe

10- Most of the herbs and spices, except for onion and garlic powder.

 

After the end of the severe colon attack (that is, between the attacks), we begin to introduce some of the forbidden foods in a small amount and measure the patient's tolerance for this type of food, and then gradually increase the quantities and types.
